Samsung Unveils New Foldable Smartphones with Enhanced Features
Samsung has introduced its latest range of foldable smartphones, offering a variety of options that cater to different user needs. The new devices include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Each model brings unique features and improvements, making them stand out in the competitive smartphone market.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Flip 7 are equipped with the ProScaler upscaling feature, a technology developed in collaboration with Samsung’s 8K TV division. This feature was well-received on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and it is expected to deliver similar performance on these new foldable models. Alongside this, both devices support Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio experience through both wired and wireless connections, positioning them as strong contenders in the audio-visual category.
Design and Durability Enhancements
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 boasts a sleek design, measuring just 4.2mm thick when unfolded. It features a new Armour Flex hinge and multi-rail structure, ensuring a smoother folding mechanism. Despite its slim profile, the device is reinforced with Samsung’s latest Advanced Aluminium Armour casing, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and Ceramic 2 coatings, enhancing its durability.
Inside, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 houses a larger 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Quad HD display with a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2600 nits. The cover display is equally impressive, featuring a 6.5-inch screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio, ideal for watching movies and other cinematic content.
Performance and Camera Upgrades
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite for Galaxy processor. It offers 12GB of RAM for the 256GB and 512GB models, while the 1TB version comes with 16GB of RAM. The camera system has also been upgraded, featuring a 200MP main lens from the S25 Ultra, supported by a 10MP telephoto lens and a new 12MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 also presents a fresh design, complete with an edge-to-edge cover display and a 6.9-inch 21:9 aspect ratio main display. This display supports HDR10+, offers a peak brightness of 2600 nits, and includes a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz, making it perfect for on-the-go movie watching. Instead of a Qualcomm processor, the Flip 7 uses an Exynos chipset, but it still runs Android 15 with One UI 8 and includes all Galaxy AI features.
The dual-camera setup on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 consists of a 50MP main lens and a 12MP ultra-wide lens, with improved night photography capabilities.
Affordable Entry Point
Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 7 FE, an affordable option for those interested in the Galaxy Z series. This model is an updated version of the Z Flip 6, featuring a 6.7-inch AMOLED main display and access to Samsung’s latest software features, including Galaxy AI and the Now Brief system.
